1. How easy is a shade sail to put up? This depends on the site, but generally two people could install a shade in a couple of hours. 2. What do you fasten them to? Shade sails are easily attached to structures that provide a good firm fixing. This could be the wall of a house, a well built pergola, or wooden or metal posts concreted into the ground. For a less permanent installation you can fasten them to trees, washing line posts or strong climbing frames. 3. What are they used for? Sail shades are designed to bring shade into the garden and provide a shelter from the sun's harmful rays. The sail cuts out up to 98% of harmful UV and provides a more pleasant area to enjoy the garden or outdoor play. Because of there size they are very useful at providing privacy in garden flats and patio's that are overlooked. 4. Are they waterproof? Shade sails are designed to let the hot air out from under and allow wind to pass through so are not fully waterproof. 5. How long should I keep the sail up? Because the sails are UV stabilized and are very well constructed with taped seams, the sails can be left in place for 10 months of the year and only taken down when bad weather is forecasted. Each sail shade comes with a 5 Year guarantee. 6. What accessories will I need? On a square sail you will need four snap hooks, four pad eyes( screwed onto structure) and two turnbuckles to tension. A triangle shade sail only need three hooks and pad eyes and two turnbuckles 7. How do I clean them? A hose pipe and soft brush is all that is recommended to clean your sail. 8. What colours do the Shades come in? The 4 main colours are Woodland Green, Architectural Grey, Porcelain and Coastal Sand. 9. What Shapes do they come in? The D.I.Y Shades come in a Triangle, Square and Right Angle shape. 10. If I do not like ordering online is there an alternative? Yes, you can call the office on 01322 403395 between 9am and 5pm and one of our members of staff will be able to take your order. 11. How long do I have to wait before I received the goods? Most deliveries will be received within 3 to 5 working days after receipt of your order and payment. We also offer a 24hr and 48hr courier service if customers want there purchases quicker. 12. Do these shades protect from UV rays? These shades are very effective at blocking 98% of the harmful UV rays from the sun. 13. Do we need planning permission to install these shades? I believe planning permission is not necessary to erect these shades but if you have any doubt then a quick call to your Councils planning department will lay any fears to rest. 14. Does it come with a manufactures warranty? It comes with a 5 year warranty against UV breakdown. 15. Do you do other sizes? We can arrange a quote for larger sail shades but we can not quote for smaller shades. All you need to do is provide dimensions and shape and we can find out what it would cost to make. |
